Why is Island of the Blue Dolphins interesting?
The book, Island of the Blue Dolphins, is interesting because Karana has to survive by herself. Karana was by herself because her brother was killed by the wild dogs. Karana was on the boat when she noticed that her little brother, Ramo, was not on the boat. Ramo was still very young, just half her age. This means he doesn't know much and he would need help to survive. The wild dogs had a new leader which made them dangerous. The new leader was an Aluet dog. The dogs found Ramo when he was going to the cliffs by himself, and the dogs killed him. After the dogs killed Ramo, Karana was waiting for the ship to come back, but it didn't. She decided she would stay on the island by herself. So she wouldn't be lonely, Karana adopted three pets. After she saw the three puppies in the cave, she wanted to have a dog as a pet. Later, she shot the leader of the wild dogs with an arrow. He was wounded, she took him inside her house and took care of him. She named him Rontu, and kept her...
